January, 2005, we opened our doors to what was then called, Pasitos de Amor (Little Steps of Love)—a small Christian pre-school for three and four year olds. On the first day of school, twenty-eight little boys and girls walked through the door of their one room school building excited to sit down at their desk and see what was going to happen next. For many of them this was their first experience away from their families.
January, 2006, we opened the school year with a brand new name, Gerizim Christian School and a brand new school building. Many changes have taken place since that first year in 2005. We have since been licensed to teach through the sixth grade and beginning the school year in 2010 we now have one hundred and eighty-four students enrolled.
Gerizim Christian School is located in a very poor area of Chimaltenango, Guatemala, but through the financial help from individuals in the States, the children are receiving a quality education. We are able to offer our students a wide variety of classes apart from their regular curriculum such as computer, English, art and music.
As a Christian school, it is our delight to teach our students daily the Word of God. Each week, we have chapel where students and staff come together to worship the Lord Jesus. We often, as staff, look on amazed at how God´s Holy Spirit moves among the young lives as they worship Him.

You will receive a picture of your student along with the date of birth and their current grade.
